About Mustang And Tsarang Village

About Mustang

Mustang is the most remote district of Nepal. It is located behind the Himalayas, in the northernmost part of Nepal, bordering China-Tibet from its north and Dolpa (a district) from west and Manang (a district)from east and Myagdi (a district) from south. It is scaled 2000-8167 meters above the sea level, so the climate here is very cold.
According to geological history it is said and believed that before a million of years ago there was a big sea named TITHEA, after some years there happened a plat tic change and the land now called Mustang had been emerged. Due to this reason the land here is situated in very height with deserted the quality of soils. We can also get many fossils from the river Kaligandaki, which can be said as the life blood of Musatang. According to cultural or traditional history, Mustang was a powerful kingdom and later on when China invaded Tibet the land has been politically inserted under Nepal's territory.  Here the people are illiterate, they are highly rooted with Buddhism, the culture and tradition are almost same as Tibetan.
Now in present time it becomes the centre for tourist or foreign attraction because of its unique landscape, culture, traditions. It is very rich in world heritage like monasteries and stupas.
In conclusion we can say that Mustang is a forbidden district of Nepal, where peoples are illiterate and rooted in Buddhist religion and the main occupation is farming.
